Lisa Dukart is a digitally-savvy, versatile journalist equally adept at telling long-form stories and breaking news for online and print audiences. She is a skilled editor with a trained eye, who works well in a deadline-driven environment.
She’s honed these skills as a vital part of the Today Media, Inc. editorial team and currently serves as the executive editor of Main Line Today, a monthly luxury lifestyle magazine focused on Philadelphia’s suburbs. Lisa has written hundreds of stories for this CRMA member title and works to concept stories, packages and compelling editorial calendars, as well as art direct covers for its 97 percent college-educated audience. Lisa’s work also appears in the pages of its sister magazine, Delaware Today, where she is a contributing writer.
Also under the Today Media, Inc. umbrella, Lisa is the executive editor of The Hunt, an affluent quarterly lifestyle magazine focused on Delaware and Pennsylvania’s Brandywine Valley. In this capacity, Lisa works to concept compelling stories throughout the year, writing for both print and digital audiences. She is also responsible for engaging digital audiences through social media channels and was the originator of The Hunt‘s Instagram account.
In addition to this, Lisa is also a contributing editor for Weddings Today (formerly Delaware/Main Line Bride), a biannual publication produced by Main Line Today and Delaware Today. There, she concepts stories and writes about wedding trends and real nuptials throughout Delaware and Philadelphia’s Main Line.
Outside of Today Media, Inc., Lisa enjoys working as a freelance travel writer. Her work has recently appeared in AAA Traveler Worldwise magazine, which serves the Mid-Atlantic.
Lisa earned her Master of Science in journalism from Boston University’s College of Communication. During that time, Lisa had the opportunity to study travel writing in Australia through BU’s study abroad program. It was an experience that furthered her desire to travel and write about new places, cultures and experiences and later inspired her to become a freelance travel journalist. During graduate school, Lisa was an editorial intern at Boston magazine, where she wrote for print and web. Lisa also interned at MedTech Boston, where she wrote stories and managed social media.
Lisa earned her Bachelor of Art from BU, graduating with a double major in English and Philosophy, and a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. In 2011, Lisa received the Sarah Joanne Davis Award for her reporting on gender politics at BU. She has written for several campus publications, including The Quad, The Comment and Boston University News Service.
Beyond traveling, Lisa’s interests include hiking, reading, tennis and photography.
